Review: Emma and the Vampires by Jane Austen and Wayne Josephson

At first I was hesitant to read Emma and the Vampires because I had never read a Jane Austen book in my life. I took a chance and read it because I have been part of the latest vampire craze and thought it might be interesting. I was wrong.

At first I had to force myself to read the book because it wasn't very exciting. It seemed repetitive with vampires always waiting outside to attack and then being killed when the party-goers went outside. Throughout the book Emma Woodhouse tries to set up her friend, Harriet Smith, with the bachelors of Highbury in the hopes that she may be proposed to. There wasn't too much of a particular plot line until the end of the book. Emma and the Vampires got more interesting as the book went on but it's not a story I would want to read over and over.

Overall not a bad book but not a great one either. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I never liked these types of books though to be fair. Set in the past with old language I just don't enjoy reading them. You might ave a different opinion though.
